Hull to Devon. DELIVERED ❤️
Share
A few weeks ago we shared this order while it was still taking shape in our Hull workshop.
At the time it was a workshop full of timber, sawdust and furniture waiting to be finished. A full bedroom package and a full living room package, all made by us and all destined for the same home in Devon.
But anyone who read the first article will know that this was about much more than the furniture.
This job had been pushed back countless times since June. One thing after another went wrong and it reached the point where we felt we had no option but to insist Lisa took a refund.
She refused. Every single time.
She believed in us and she believed in the work we create, even when we were struggling to get her order over the finish line.
We finally had everything made and ready to go and then the roof at the workshop was damaged by the weather, leaving two of the items unusable. They had to be made again and the delivery had to be rescheduled again.
Yesterday, after what seemed like forever, we finally got there.

The four poster has completely taken over the bedroom, exactly how a bed like this should. Alongside it are the matching pieces, all made in the same rustic finish so the whole room ties together.

Then there’s the dressing table and stool, tallboy and chest of drawers.

And it didn’t stop with the bedroom. The order carried on through the home with pieces including this huge handmade bookcase and cupboard.

From what we have been told, Lisa is absolutely thrilled with her new furniture. But rather than us telling you that, this is what Lisa had to say after everything was delivered.
“I absolutely love it. Great service from start to finish, couldn't do enough for me and it was ready a whole week early. You guys did a great job. Even the guys delivering were great. Amazing company amazing customer service. Thanks again. X”
After the journey this order has been on, that review means more to us than Lisa probably realises.
It would have been easy for her to walk away. We actually gave her that option ourselves. Instead, she stuck with us and trusted that we would eventually get there.
That trust comes with responsibility. We know the delays were not good enough and we are not trying to pretend they were. What matters now is that the delays are being cleaned up, orders are getting out of the workshop and customers are seeing the furniture they waited for sitting in their homes.
The reviews and feedback coming back from those deliveries tell their own story.
We deliberately haven’t changed the original article. That was the story at the time and we want people to be able to read both.
Read the original Hull to Devon article here and see where this one started.
These finished photos probably explain what we do better than we ever could.
We don’t buy furniture in and resell it.
We don’t pick it from a catalogue.
We make it.
One piece. A matching set. A full bedroom. Multiple rooms. If you have an idea, talk to us and we’ll see what we can build around your home and what you actually need.
From our workshop in Hull to Lisa’s home in Devon.
This one took far longer than it should have, but yesterday we finally got to see it finished properly.
Thank you, Lisa, for sticking with us.
