Hull to Devon — This One Has Been a Journey

This one has been a long time coming.

Currently taking over a pretty decent chunk of our Hull workshop is a full bedroom package AND a full living room package, all getting ready to make the journey down to Devon.

And when we say full packages… we mean FULL packages. 😂

But there's a bit more behind this order than just a load of furniture.

This customer has been with us through probably one of the hardest periods we've had at Three Skulls.

We've been completely open about the backlog we found ourselves fighting, alongside time away from the workshop following bereavements in our family. It knocked us harder than we expected and left us with a mountain to climb when we came back.

Unfortunately, this order landed right in the middle of it.

They've waited longer than they should have.

They've had every right to be frustrated.

But they never once asked us to cancel their order.

Not once.

They stuck with us.

They trusted that we'd get through the mess, get their furniture built and eventually make that long drive from Hull to Devon with everything they'd ordered.

And that means a lot to us.

What you're looking at in these photos isn't a showroom. Nothing has been staged or dressed up for the camera.

This is us.

Our workshop. Sawdust on the floor. Furniture everywhere. And a bloody big order sitting there in its bare bones, before the finishing starts and everything gets ready to leave us.

A full bedroom.

A full living room.

All handmade here in Hull.

We've never pretended to be perfect.

We fell behind. Things didn't always go to plan. We had a rough few months and we've worked bloody hard to fight our way back from it.

So we're not putting this article up just to show off another big order.

It's here because this one deserves a bit of recognition.

There are customers who stuck with us through a period when things weren't running how they should have been. Customers who understood there were real people behind Three Skulls and gave us the opportunity to get things right.

And these customers in Devon are absolutely among them.

They've trusted us with not just one piece of furniture, but two entire rooms of their home.

Now it's our turn to finish what we started.

Get it finished.

Get it loaded.

And get ourselves down to DEVON. 🚚💀
