Two Bespoke Rustic Sink Units by Three Skulls Furniture

There’s something lovely about seeing a piece we’ve made become part of a customer’s own project. This customer commissioned us to make two rustic sink units, then made the timber tops themselves to complete the look.

We handmade both cabinet bases here at Three Skulls Furniture in Hull. With their natural wood grain, traditional plank doors and black strap hinges, they bring our familiar rustic style into the bathroom.

The customer deserves the credit for the tops. Their natural edges work beautifully with the cabinets underneath, while the white bowl basins add a clean, simple finish. Seeing the two elements together shows how well a bespoke cabinet and a customer’s own ideas can come together.

The Details That Give Them Character

The cupboard fronts keep the design simple, allowing the grain and knots in the timber to stand out. Wooden knobs sit neatly against the doors, while the black hinges add a strong contrast to the warm tones of the wood.

Behind the two doors, the cabinets offer cupboard space for bathroom essentials. It’s a practical piece of furniture as well as a feature in the room, bringing storage and character into the same design.

The photographs show how comfortably the units sit alongside the white walls, timber window ledges and wood effect flooring. Those colours and textures work together to create a warm, welcoming space.

Handmade Furniture Beyond the Bedroom

Although many people know us for our beds, wardrobes and bedroom packages, commissions like this show another side of what we make.

A bathroom cabinet is something you use every day, and it can carry just as much character as the furniture elsewhere in your home. These two units are a lovely example of our rustic style working in a different setting.
