A Complete Handmade Bedroom – and a Review That Meant Everything
Some orders mean more than simply making the furniture, loading the van and ticking another job off the list. This was one of them.
Last week we completed and delivered a substantial handmade bedroom order: a king-size wooden bed, two matching bedside tables, a chest of drawers, a wardrobe and a tallboy.
We will be completely honest: the journey was not perfect. The order was delayed, there were moments when our communication could have been better, and the customer had understandable concerns after reading some negative reviews while he waited. We never want to pretend those difficult parts did not happen.
What made this order special was the understanding on both sides. We spoke honestly about some of the issues behind the delay, offered compensation for the inconvenience and stayed committed to completing the furniture properly. When the customer sent us these photographs of the finished room—and then left the review below—it genuinely meant a lot to both of us.
A full handmade bedroom set
Every piece was made to work as part of the same room. The solid king-size bed sits at the centre, with the bedside tables, tallboy, chest of drawers and wardrobe all carrying the same rustic timber finish. Against the deep brown walls, exposed brick fireplace and wooden floor, it looks as though it has always belonged there.
This is exactly why we love seeing furniture once it has left our Hull workshop and reached its real home. In the workshop, we see timber, measurements, sanding, stain and a lot of hard work. The customer sees the room they had pictured—and these photographs bring both sides of that story together.

Smaller businesses can inevitably experience challenges that larger companies may be better equipped to deal with, and in my experience the quality and value of the end product more than made up for the bumps along the way.
Having now received everything, I’m extremely pleased that I went ahead with my order. The furniture looks brilliant, the quality has exceeded my expectations, and I honestly think you’d struggle to find this level of furniture at such a good price elsewhere.
The delays were frustrating at the time, but the end result was absolutely worth waiting for. I’m a very happy customer and would happily buy from Three Skulls Furniture again. If you’re looking for great-looking, quality furniture at a fantastic price and are prepared to be a little patient with a smaller business, I’d definitely recommend them.
I’d considered a 4 star review solely due to delivery delays but settled on 5 star being apt due to understanding some of the issues and the quality of the final product.”
Why this review meant so much
A five-star review is always appreciated, but this one meant more because it was not written as though everything had been flawless. It recognised the frustration, the communication issues and the wait—but it also recognised how much care went into putting things right and making sure the finished furniture was worth it.
For the customer, it marked the moment a long-awaited room finally came together. For us, it was a reminder that accountability, patience and a finished job we can all be proud of matter more than pretending every order follows a perfectly straight line.
